Engine Saver Saves
LIST OF “SAVES” MADE BY THE ENGINE SAVER
The Engine Saver provides reliable Engine Protection and Monitoring at an affordable price. By monitoring engine temperature, coolant pressure, oil pressure, crankcase pressure, turbo pressure and RPM you can be alerted to failure, locate and repair the problem, before any major damage can occur. Below is the List of Saves that the Engine Saver has caught in the past.
12V-71 Detroit N –Clyde 150 ton Gantry Crane, located at Atlantic Dry Dock, Jacksonville, Florida. The Engine Saver detected an oil pressure drop due to low oil level. The Engine Saver shutdown the engine, oil was added to the proper level in engine; Engine Saver was reset and the engine was restarted and returned to service.
KTA 38 Cummins N – 90 ton Gantry Crane located at Atlantic Dry Dock, Jacksonville Florida. The Engine Saver detected a drop in water level. The Engine Saver automatically shutdown the engine, water was replaced to operating level. Engine Saver was reset, engine was restarted and returned to service.
Caterpillar 3512 – Drive engine Aboard the Tugboat “Pascagoula”. The engine blew a head gasket, steam accumulated in the crankcase and the Model 550 Engine Saver alarmed on Crankcase Pressure; the operator slowed the engine and reported the alarm. The engine was repaired and returned to service.
KTA 50 Cummins – Atlantic Dry Dock, Inc. A water pressure fault caused the engine to cut off and a water pump anomaly was discovered and repaired. The cost to ADDC for repairs was minimal. The overhaul cost last year, before being equipped with the ES was $130,000.00. Atlantic has committed to outfitting all the heavy diesels in their combined shipyards with Engine Savers.

Optimum Colliery – Euclid Truck R100 powered by Cummins KTA 2300 engine. Engine Saver shutdown on high crankcase pressure and found blocked filter breathers.
Hecketts – Clark Michigan 475 Wheeled Loader powered Cummins KT 1710 engine. Engine Saver shut down on low coolant pressure. The unit had been fitted with a rebuilt engine and it was discovered that the engine block had not been properly cleaned by the rebuilders. The oil cooler and the engine coolant system were full of rust.
Hecketts -- Clark Michigan 475 Wheeled Loader powered by Cummins KT 1710 engine. The Engine Saver shut down on low coolant pressure. Found operator had been removing radiator cap to check water level and had failed to tighten the cap when replacing it.
Finsch Mine – Komatsu 785 Dump Truck powered by Cummins KTA 2300 engine. The Engine Saver shut down on high crank case pressure. Found wrong oil dip stick fitted and sump over filled. Also found blocked breathers.
Finsch Mine – Komatsu 680 Dump Truck powered by Cummins KT 1710 engine. The Engine Saver shut down on low oil pressure. Found blocked oil filter and diesel fuel in engine oil.
Finsch Mine – Komatsu 680 Dump Truck powered by Cummins KT 1710 engine. The Engine Saver shutdown on high crankcase pressure. Found diesel fuel in engine oil.
